What's the difference between regular hockey pants and goalie hockey pants?
The padding. Goalie pants are more bulky and thicker for stopping pucks where as skater pants are less protective because 1. you're not the one stopping pucks 2. lighter so you skate better.

Maria Mountain's Ultimate Goalie System Review - From a Real Goalie
My favorite hobby is playing hockey as a goalie. Hockey really gives me a great workout and I love the team aspect and how fast paced the games are. But when I looked around to find some training on being a goalie, I found out that most training systems focus only on skaters and not goalies. Then after some deep Google searching, I came across Maria Mountain's Ultiamte Goalie System. And I'm so glad I did!
Here is a system that recognizes that being a goalie is different than any other position in hockey and should have techniques dedicated just to it. I showed this to my coach and he couldn't believe that a goalie system like this even existed. He said that he wished he had something like this back when he was playing regularly. But he also loved the fact that he could take it home and work on his techniques any time, any where...not just out on the ice.
One of the greatest things that the Ultimate Goalie System has given is much improved stamina. as you know, playing a goalie really takes something out of you crouching all the time, but now I don't feel the pressure and burn like I used to. I also really like the 12 week calendar that is included as it gives you a real goal with something that is easy to follow along with. I find my time playing is resulting in more saves, and my teammates (love you ladies!) are really noticing my improvement. And who doesn't want that?
The system isn't super cheap, but overall it ended up being much, much cheaper than hiring a real life hockey trainer. And the other cool thing is the fact that the videos are always avilable to watch, even if I can't sleep on some nights...now I'm not wasting that time.
I am so glad that Maria Mountain understood that there needed to be a trainign system that focused solely on being a goalie. It really blows me away that this type of system wasn't even available until now. I know it is specific to the position, but with the huge rise in the popularity of hockey, maybe now is the perfect time.
It has helped me and I am sure if you check it out it will help you too! In fact, if you follow this training, there is no way possible that you wouldn't become a better goalie, so why wait?
